Vincent Chen was a member of the Richard Jones Laboratory. His research involved the use of natural bioactive compounds against the A-431 epidermoid carcinoma cell line. The Jones Lab has shown that caffeic acid phenethyl ester and dially disulfide have decreased cell viability for several cancer cell lines grown in media without serum. But how will cancer cells respond to treatment when they are grown in media containing serum? His research focused on answering that question. More specifically, he was looking at how cells from the A-431 cell line respond differently to caffeic acid phenethyl ester and dially disulfide treatment when grown in media with serum. Vincent Chen left the IGSB in 2013 to become a Research Technician in the Ben May Department of Cancer Research at the University of Chicago.
