Bio

I am working as a Research Associate with Kevin white at University of Genomics and Systems Biology. I did my graduation with Dr. Chandana Das, in Biochemistry Department at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India.

Research

Currently my primary project involves understanding the complex mechanism behind estrogen mediated increased proliferation of breast cancer. I took a “systems level” functional analysis to define genome function gene-by-gene involved in estrogen signaling in breast cancer cell line using large scale RNA interference (RNAi) screen, gene expression analysis and genome-wide transcription factor and chromatin factor mapping . The RNAi screening demonstrates that a high-throughput loss-of-function screen has the ability to identify important determinants of estrogen mediated proliferation in MCF-7 breast cancer cell line. I expanded the work further to identify the molecular mechanism by which these estrogen specific proliferative regulators influence the function of estrogen.  I am also working on elucidating the role of HDACs in estrogen positive breast cancer and their mechanism of action.
