Recombineering Director
Oversee project development through appropriate high throughput pipeline production of recombineering clones. Supervise the data management (input and analysis). Train laboratory personnel in the strategies for advanced DNA engineering methodologies, data management and analysis. Work with the Center’s Director and Research Director to assure that the core is running efficiently and to assure that lab personnel are appropriately trained in standard experimental techniques. The successful candidate will interface with the Center’s research investigators, conceptualize genomics projects, and oversee implementation by the scientific technical staff. The successful candidate will use her/his expertise, experience, and enthusiasm to guide the development of the CCSB recombineering core facility. This position will include a substantial budget, supervisory role over technical staff and the opportunity to collaborate with a team of experienced and innovative programmers, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students.
The Chicago Center for Systems Biology is one of ten National Centers for Systems Biology funded by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS).
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree required; doctoral level degree in molecular cell biology and/or bio-engineering preferred; experience in advanced DNA engineering through homologous recombination and BAC transgenesiss in animal and human cells required; demonstrated excellence as evidenced by multiple high-profile journal publications preferred; excellent organizational and communications skills required; high level of motivation and ability to get along well with others required.
